Community Guidelines

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Introduction

These Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") govern all content and behavior on Fit & Miss. They are incorporated into and form part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to follow these Guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent termination, depending on severity.

We believe in honest, creative, and kind community participation. Fit & Miss is a place to get real feedback on your style — and to give it. The goal is to build a community where people feel safe to share their outfits without fear of harassment, abuse, or harm. These Guidelines exist to make that possible.

Our Trust & Safety team reviews flagged content and may take action at their discretion. You can report any content or account by using the "Flag" button available on all posts. We aim to review reports within seventy-two (72) hours.

1. Be Honest, Not Cruel

Fit & Miss is built around candid feedback. A "Miss" vote is perfectly fine — it's the whole point of the platform. But there is a clear line between honest style feedback and personal attacks.

  • Allowed: Voting "Miss," leaving comments like "I think different shoes would work better" or "not a fan of the color combo." Honest, critical, fashion-focused feedback is always welcome.
  • Not allowed: Personal insults targeting the person's body, appearance, race, gender, age, weight, or any other personal characteristic.
  • Not allowed: Comments designed to humiliate, shame, or degrade rather than critique the outfit. If your comment isn't about the clothes, it doesn't belong here.
  • Body image: We are not a body critique platform. Do not rate, comment on, or compare users' body types, weight, or physical features.

2. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited and will be removed. Severe violations will result in immediate, permanent account termination and, where required by law, referral to law enforcement.

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) & Minors' Exploitation: Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors. Absolute zero tolerance. All violations are reported immediately to NCMEC and law enforcement.
  • Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery: Posting sexually explicit or intimate images of any person without their explicit consent, including "revenge porn."
  • Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence against, or hatred of, a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Harassment & Cyberbullying: Repeated, targeted behavior intended to intimidate, humiliate, threaten, or cause distress to another user, including pile-on harassment and coordinated targeted abuse.
  • Threats & Incitement to Violence: Direct or implicit threats of physical harm, or content that incites others to commit violence.
  • Doxxing: Posting or soliciting the private personal information of any individual without their consent, including home addresses, phone numbers, or financial details.
  • Self-Harm & Suicide Content: Content that promotes, glorifies, instructs, or encourages suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders.
  • Graphic Violence & Gore: Depictions of graphic violence, torture, mutilation, or gore.
  • Nudity & Explicit Sexual Content: Full or partial nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit content. Tasteful fashion-related images (e.g., swimwear, lingerie styled as fashion content) are permitted provided they comply with all other Guidelines.
  • Illegal Drugs & Contraband: Promotion, glorification, sale, or facilitation of illegal drugs or controlled substances.
  • Spam & Inauthentic Behavior: Automated posting, bot activity, vote manipulation, artificial follower inflation, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
  • Impersonation: Creating an account intended to impersonate another person, brand, or public figure in a misleading way.
  • Misinformation: Deliberately spreading false information about other users, about Fit & Miss, or harmful health or safety misinformation.
  • Intellectual Property Infringement: Uploading content you do not own or have the rights to, in a way that violates the rights holder's intellectual property.
  • Unauthorized Commercial Activity: Unsolicited promotion, advertising, or spam marketing without Fit & Miss's prior written consent.

3. Photo & Video Standards

  • Outfit photos must feature the person submitting them. Do not upload photos of strangers without their knowledge and consent.
  • Photos must be genuine outfit photos intended for style feedback. Posting unrelated photos to game the platform or for shock value is prohibited.
  • AI-generated outfit images are permitted provided they are clearly labeled as AI-generated in the caption. Deepfakes or deceptive AI-generated content depicting real identifiable people without their consent is strictly prohibited.
  • Photos that contain identifying information about your location (such as visible home addresses or license plates) are uploaded at your own risk. We recommend reviewing your photos before posting.

4. Voting Standards

  • Vote based on the outfit, not on who posted it. Brigading — coordinating with others to vote down a specific user's posts — is prohibited.
  • Do not use multiple accounts to manipulate vote counts on any post, including your own.
  • Votes are anonymous and intended to be honest. Gaming the voting system undermines the integrity of the platform for everyone.

5. Comments & Direct Messages

  • Keep comments focused on the outfit. Off-topic, offensive, or abusive comments are subject to removal.
  • Direct messages must not be used to harass, solicit, threaten, or send unsolicited commercial messages to other users.
  • Soliciting personal contact information from other users in a persistent or unwanted manner is prohibited.

6. Mental Health & Body Image

We take mental health seriously. Fit & Miss is a fashion feedback platform, not a body critique platform. We will proactively remove content that promotes body shaming, glorifies eating disorders, or uses language associated with harmful body image movements.

If you are struggling with body image, an eating disorder, or mental health concerns, we encourage you to seek support. Resources include the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) helpline at 1-800-931-2237 (US), the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), and Lifeline Crisis Chat at www.988lifeline.org.

7. Enforcement

  • Reporting. Use the "Flag" button on any post to report a violation. You can also email support@fitormiss.com with details and evidence.
  • Review. Our Trust & Safety team reviews all reports. We aim to assess reports within seventy-two (72) hours, though complex cases may take longer.
  • Actions. Depending on severity, we may: remove the content; issue a warning; temporarily restrict account features; or permanently terminate the account. We may also refer violations to law enforcement.
  • Appeals. If you believe your content was removed in error, contact support@fitormiss.com within fourteen (14) days. We will review and respond within fourteen (14) days.
  • No Obligation. Fit & Miss reserves the right, but is not obligated, to monitor all content or remove any content that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to our community.

8. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. The current version is always available at fitormiss.com/community-guidelines. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
